Members of MWC Holdings Limited resolved to wind the company up voluntarily on 2 June 2026, with Nicholas Stafford of Hazlewoods LLP appointed liquidator on the same date.
The company is registered at 4th Floor, Llanthony Warehouse, The Docks, Gloucester, and carried out research and experimental development in natural sciences and engineering. Its former principal trading address was Units A1 and A2, Stirling Road, South Marston, Swindon. It was incorporated in December 2001 under the name Elliott Road Limited and changed to its current name in June 2002.
A creditors' voluntary liquidation, or CVL, is an insolvent winding-up resolved by a company's members at the request of its directors, without a court order. It is the largest single stream of UK corporate insolvency by volume.
The resolution
Two written resolutions were passed on 2 June 2026. The first, passed as a special resolution, resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily. The second, an ordinary resolution, named Stafford as liquidator. Both resolutions were published in the London Gazette on 9 June 2026 and the resolution notice was signed by a director of the company and dated 2 June 2026.

Stafford holds IP number 27270 and is based at Hazlewoods LLP, Staverton Court, Staverton, Cheltenham. His appointment was made by the members. Creditors and other parties may contact Carris Peacey at Hazlewoods LLP by telephone on 01242 680000 or by email at Carris.Peacey@hazlewoods.co.uk.
The officers
Three directors are currently listed at Companies House: David Adrian Bowers, who has served since the company's incorporation in December 2001; Jonathan Andrew Bowers, appointed in August 2011; and Lisa Jane Wooldridge, also appointed in August 2011. Janet Susan Bowers is the current company secretary, appointed in May 2002, having previously held a secretary appointment from December 2001 until that date. A separate secretary record for Jonathan Andrew Bowers shows an appointment and resignation both dated 23 May 2002, a same-day formation-agent placeholder entry at incorporation.
Secured charges
Four outstanding charges are registered in favour of Clydesdale Bank PLC, which also trades as Yorkshire Bank. The earliest, a debenture created in November 2011, carries a fixed and floating charge over the company's entire undertaking and all present and future assets, including goodwill, book debts, buildings, fixtures, and plant and machinery. Two legal charges, both created in December 2011, cover Unit A1 at South Marston Industrial Estate, Swindon, and a property at 44-46 Elliott Road, Love Lane Industrial Estate, Gloucestershire. A further registered charge, created in October 2014, covers Unit A2 at Stirling Road, South Marston Industrial Estate, Swindon. All four charges remain outstanding.
Common questions
Are you owed money by Mwc Holdings Limited?
In a creditors' voluntary liquidation you are an unsecured creditor unless you hold a registered charge or retention of title. The liquidators will write to known creditors with a proof-of-debt form. A statement of affairs prepared by the directors and the chair of the creditors' decision procedure should be available on request. Read more about proof of debt and where you sit in the creditor hierarchy.
Did you work at Mwc Holdings Limited?
In a CVL, employees are typically dismissed at or shortly after the liquidator's appointment. Wages owed up to a statutory cap, holiday pay, notice pay and redundancy may be claimable from the Redundancy Payments Service. The liquidators will normally provide RP1 case-reference numbers to the affected staff. See gov.uk: your rights if your employer is insolvent.
Do you hold a deposit, gift card or undelivered order from Mwc Holdings Limited?
Customers with paid-but-undelivered orders, gift cards or deposits rank as unsecured creditors in the liquidation. Where you paid by credit card and the amount was over £100, Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 may let you claim from the card issuer for breach of contract or misrepresentation by the supplier; the rules apply per item, not per transaction, and the card must be a regulated credit card. Debit-card payments may be recoverable via chargeback.
Are you a director of a company connected to Mwc Holdings Limited?
Section 216 of the Insolvency Act 1986 applies the moment the company enters liquidation. If you intend to be involved in another company using the same or a similar name within five years, you must rely on one of the three statutory exceptions and file the relevant notice. Acting in breach is a criminal offence and exposes you to personal liability for the successor's debts.
