The High Court of Justice made a winding-up order against Majestic Autos (UK) Limited on 17 June 2026, placing the Woodford Green used-car dealer into compulsory liquidation. Compulsory liquidation is the court-imposed form of winding-up and is distinct from a voluntary process resolved by a company's own members. S Brindley of the Official Receiver's office was appointed liquidator the same day.
The Official Receiver is a civil servant of the Insolvency Service who automatically takes office as liquidator when a winding-up order is made. Brindley can be reached via PO Box 18938, Birmingham, B2 2DY, or by email at Enquiries.Liquidation@insolvency.gov.uk.
The road to court
A winding-up petition was filed on 23 April 2026, nearly two months before the order was sealed. A winding-up petition is a court filing by a creditor asking the court to make a winding-up order. The bundle does not name the petitioner.
The Financial Conduct Authority had already moved against the company before the petition was filed. A decision notice dated 12 June 2024 confirmed that the FCA had cancelled Majestic Autos (UK) Limited's Part 4A permission, the regulatory authorisation required to carry out regulated financial activities. The FCA assigned the firm reference number 676879. That decision came roughly two years before the court order.
Companies House records show the company's accounts were last made up to 31 March 2020, with the next filing due by 29 December 2021. No further accounts appear to have been filed.
