IP number
The licence number issued by an insolvency practitioner's recognised professional body. It uniquely identifies the individual practitioner.
Every UK-licensed insolvency practitioner holds a licence from one of the recognised professional bodies: the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) or the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). The IP number identifies the individual practitioner and lets you verify their licence at the Insolvency Service's recognised-practitioner register.
