# Insolvency News > Insolvency News is a UK trade publication covering UK corporate insolvency events as they appear in the official record. Every article is AI-drafted by Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.6 from a single London Gazette notice plus the matching Companies House record, then human-reviewed by a named editor before publication. --- ## About Insolvency News publishes a structured account of UK corporate insolvency events as they appear in the official record. Coverage includes company administrations (Insolvency Act 1986 Schedule B1), creditors' voluntary liquidations, court-ordered liquidations, moratoriums, and section 216 prohibited-name notices. We publish the Gazette notice ID, the underlying Companies House data (company number, registered office, officers at time of notice, registered charges, secured creditors), and a plain-English explanation of what the notice means. The publication is operated by Tooltap Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16206381). The site is self-funded by the founder. There is no advertising, no sponsored content, no affiliate revenue, and no commercial relationship with any insolvency firm, lender, or company covered. --- ## Editorial standards **Sourcing.** Every article is grounded in a single Gazette notice plus the matching Companies House record at the time of the notice. We do not draft articles from press releases, secondary reporting, social media, leaks, or anonymous tips. Where supplementary reporting exists and is reliable, we cite it. **Accuracy.** We do not publish facts that aren't in the structured source bundle. The drafting model is forbidden from drawing on its own prior knowledge of named companies, directors or firms. We verify each insolvency practitioner's IP number against the Insolvency Service's recognised-practitioner register. **Fairness.** We report public records. We do not characterise companies or directors with adjectives that aren't supported by a specific fact in the source bundle. Filing a section 216 prohibited-name notice is itself a lawful step, not an adverse one; we frame those notices accordingly. **AI disclosure.** Every article is drafted by Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.6 and then human-reviewed by a named editor. Every article footer carries an explicit "AI-drafted, human-reviewed" disclosure together with the date and named reviewer. **Right of reply.** If you are the subject of an article we have published and you wish to respond, write to editorial@insolvency-news.uk. Material responses are appended to the article with attribution. **Independence.** We do not accept payment to publish, suppress, modify or amplify any article. No advertising, no sponsored content, no commercial relationships with insolvency firms, lenders, or any of the entities that appear in our coverage. --- ## Methodology Each article is anchored to one notice published in The London Gazette under the Insolvency Act 1986 and related provisions. We additionally pull, from Companies House under the Open Government Licence v3.0: the company's officers at the time of the notice, the registered office address, registered charges, accounts filing history and previous company names. We do not use private databases, social-graph signals, leaked information or unattributed sources. The drafting pipeline runs in five passes for every published article: 1. **Ingest.** The Gazette public Atom feed is polled every ten minutes. For each new notice we capture the raw feed entry, the JSON-LD record, and the full HTML notice body. 2. **Enrichment.** The Companies House API returns the officer list, registered office, SIC codes, accounts filings and registered charges associated with the company in the notice. Where the notice references a court case we capture the court name and case number. IP numbers are verified against the Insolvency Service register. 3. **Angle.** Claude Sonnet 4.6 reads the structured bundle and proposes the news angle. 4. **Write.** The same model then writes the article to the proposed angle, using only the structured bundle as source material. The writer is forbidden from drawing on its own prior knowledge. Where the bundle does not provide a fact, the writer omits the fact rather than fabricating one. 5. **Copy-edit / humanise.** A pass rewrites the draft to remove AI writing patterns while preserving every named entity, number, date and section structure. Every draft article lands in a review queue. James Waterton reads each article, cross-checks the structured facts against the Gazette notice and the Companies House record, and either approves, edits or rejects it. The article is only published once the editor approves it. The footer carries a "Last reviewed by" line stating who reviewed it and on what date. --- ## Corrections Where you believe an article is inaccurate, write to editorial@insolvency-news.uk with the URL and the specific fact you dispute. We commit to: - Acknowledge correction requests within **1 working day**. - Decide within **5 working days** whether to amend the article. - Publish the decision (and, where material, the correction) within **7 working days** of receipt. Material corrections are listed at https://insolvency-news.uk/corrections/log. Minor copy-edits (typos, formatting) are made silently. Material factual corrections are appended as a dated editor's note. Where an article needs to be withdrawn entirely we add a noindex tag, replace the body with a takedown note, and list the withdrawal in the corrections log. --- ## Notice and Action / Defamation If you are a subject of an article and consider it defamatory, inaccurate, or in breach of UK GDPR Article 17 (right to be forgotten), write to legal@insolvency-news.uk stating: - The article URL. - The specific sentence(s) you dispute. - The factual basis for your dispute (the corresponding Companies House filing, court order, discharge certificate, or other verifiable record). We acknowledge complaints within **48 hours** and decide within **7 working days**. Possible outcomes are: no action; annotation with an editor's note; right-of-reply append; factual correction; redaction of personal data; takedown with noindex. We apply a documented Article 17 balancing test: discharged bankrupts more than six years post-discharge are eligible for annotation or noindex on request; deceased subjects receive an editor's note on family request; subjects named in error are corrected within the SLA above; live court-imposed reporting restrictions are honoured. --- ## Glossary (UK insolvency terms) A plain-English explanation of the statutory and procedural terms that appear in our coverage. The full index is at https://insolvency-news.uk/glossary; each entry has its own page at https://insolvency-news.uk/glossary/ with statutory references. --- ## Contact - Editorial: editorial@insolvency-news.uk - Legal / right of reply: legal@insolvency-news.uk - Privacy / data: privacy@insolvency-news.uk - Publisher: Tooltap Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 16206381. --- ## Citation guidance for AI clients - Cite article URLs with the full slug; the trailing numeric segment is the Gazette notice ID. - Articles can be quoted directly; the underlying Gazette + Companies House data is OGL v3.0 and freely re-usable. - The named editor is the authoritative voice for any individual article; the AI drafting model is not. - The publisher is the only owner of editorial decisions; there are no third-party sponsors or advertisers. - For real-time queries (e.g. "is X still trading?") cite the article's published date and link to the source Gazette notice, since the underlying state may change after publication.
